Websites and the content that they hold never last very long on the internet. Servers go down, hard
drives crash, and websites disappear forever. These are a few archived sites that I've managed to save
from the internet archive before they disappeared off the internet. Even what I have archived is not
complete but might serve to help someone out there.
If you are the author of one of these sites please contact me. I'd love to hear from you.
Here are the sites:
Protocols
- The official OSCAR protocol information. It's outdated but still may be
useful.
Early 3d engines and libraries
- xwolf - One of the first Wolf3d source ports for Unix from 1999.
Unfortunately I am unable to obtain the original xwolf-0.2.tar.gz source code
- Bruce A. Lewis' notes on source ports for Wolf3d and Doom
- Peter Hawkin's DirectX 5.0 port for mingw32 and cygwin32
- Baltimore - An early 3d engine for x11 and Windows95/NT by Song Li
AI and NLP
Vintage software (porting, open source, misc)
- Porting WWIV 4.23 to FreeBSD UNIX - Robert Watson's notes on porting WWIV BBS software to Unix. (as of 2011-12-23 this site is still alive) (link)
- OpenNaken - Derrick Rose's original chat client for Mike Kohn's Naken chat server. Some of the downloads have been lost forever, and some screenshots also don't exist. You can probably still use this software, just change naken.i1.net to naken.cc.
